February 2nd, 2012“Soul Train” creator Don Cornelius commits suicide
February 2nd, 2012
Don Cornelius, creator of the iconic TV music and dance show “Soul Train” that helped introduce Americans to black pop culture, died on Wednesday after shooting himself in the head, Los Angeles officials said.
Police found the body of Cornelius, 75, at his house in the wealthy, hillside area of Los Angeles called Sherman Oaks at around 4 a.m on Wednesday. He was later pronounced dead at a local hospital.
“The death was reported as a suicide, a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head,” Los Angeles coroner’s Assistant Chief Ed Winter said. Police said there was no evidence of foul play.
It was not immediately known why Cornelius would have taken his own life, although he was said to have been in failing health in recent years.

January 30th, 2012Demi Moore “smoked something”
January 30th, 2012
Actress Demi Moore suffered convulsions and seemed only semi-conscious after smoking an undisclosed substance before being rushed to hospital earlier this week, according to the tape of a medical emergency call released on Friday.
“She smoked something, it’s not marijuana but it is similar to incense. She seems to be having convulsions of some sort,” a female friend of Moore told emergency services when calling for an ambulance on Monday.
“She has been having some issues. I don’t know what she has been taking,” another woman at Moore’s house that night told the 911 dispatcher. Moore was also described as “burning up”, unable to speak and semi-conscious before help arrived at her Beverly Hills mansion.
The tape shed the first official light on the emergency that sent recently-separated Moore to the hospital, and later to seek treatment for what her spokeswoman has described only as “exhaustion”.
Los Angeles officials said portions of the tape recording had been edited for privacy and to remove references to specific substances.
Celebrity website TMZ.com has reported that one of the friends at Moore’s home on Monday told paramedics the actress had been inhaling nitrous oxide — a substance also known as whip-its or poppers that gives users a high by briefly depriving the body of oxygen. The substance was not mentioned on the version of the tape recording released to the media.

January 17th, 2012Brian Austin Green sues ex; wants his $200K back
January 17th, 2012
Brian Austin Green and wife Megan Fox are doing just fine, thank you. But the former “Beverly Hills, 90210″ actor does have beef with one of his ex-girlfriends.
Green claims that, while he was dating Vanessa Marcil-Giovinazzo early last decade, he lent her $200,000. Marcil-Giovinazzo was also in “90210″ (remember Donna’s half-sister?) and is the mother of Green’s 9-year-old son.
Now Green wants his green back.
Green filed a lawsuit against Marcil-Giovinazzo in Los Angeles Superior Court on Friday. In the complaint, which was obtained by TheWrap, he claims breach of contract and breach of oral agreement, among other charges.
Green and Marcil-Giovinazzo — then just Marcil; she later married “CSI: NY” actor Carmine Giovinazzo – met on the set of “90210″ in the late 1990s. Green claims that, starting in January 2000, he wrote her checks of up to $50,000 at a time. She allegedly promised to promptly pay him back the borrowed money, which Green says totaled $200,000.
Green and Marcil-Giovinazzo were in agreement that “the monies were not gifts,” the suit says.
In November, Green reached out to her, asking for the money back, according to the suit. But Marcil-Giovinazzo — who won an Emmy in 2003 for her portrayal of Brenda Barrett on “General Hospital” — refused to pay him back.
Green is seeking the alleged $200,000 that Marcil-Giovinazzo allegedly borrowed. He is also seeking additional, unspecified damages, and requesting a jury trial.

And they said it wouldn’t last….they were right.
