Mystery surrounds the death of a lesbian soldier in Afghanistan
“If anything happens to me, you guys make sure it gets investigated,” was what Spc. Ciara Durkin, told her sister when she was home on leave three weeks ago. The Quincy, Massachusetts native was found shot in the head last week near her office in Afghanistan. Fiona Canavan, Durkin’s sister reported that Durkin said that she had made some enemies because of something that she had discovered, but never fully explained what.
This is the second mysterious death of a lesbian soldier in less than a month, and Massachusetts Senators Edward Kennedy and John Kerry are calling for a full investigation into Durkin’s death.
