Lakers Coach Reprimanded for Tasteless Comment
Los Angeles Lakers coach, Phil Jackson came under criticism from the NBA Tuesday night after a comment he made during a post game interview.
After their loss to the Spurs, Jackson was asked by a reporter if too much penetration was what led to the Spurs victory, Jackson responded, “We call this a ‘Brokeback Mountain’ game, because there’s so much penetration and kickouts.”
The NBA responded that, “The remarks are in poor taste,” and GLAAD president, Neil G. Giuliano stated, “Phil Jackson’s been coaching long enough that he should be able to talk about the Lakers’ performance without resorting to cheap gay jokes.”
