Trans Woman Sues Catholic Hospital
Charlene Hastings is suing the Catholic Seton Medical Center in California for discrimination after her breast enlargement surgery was denied and the hospital told her it was because, “God made you a man.”
Hastings had already completed the major part of the gender reassignment surgery, and was denied the breast enlargement by a surgical coordinator who stated that the facilities are not to be used for transgender procedures.
Christopher Dolan, Hastings lawyer stated that their case is not just about religion, but also civil rights and allowing transgender people to use businesses and other facilities equally.
