Speaking Out Against An Ugly Phrase
For the first time in its history, the Advertising Council will introduce ads aimed at tackling social issues of concern to the LGBT community.
The ads, created free of charge by the New York office of Arnold Worldwide, urge an end to the use of derogatory language. The ad themes boldly state: “When you say, ‘That’s so gay,’ do you realize what you say? Knock it off.”
With celebrities such as Hilary Duff and Wanda Sykes contributing their talents to the campaign, they will certainly gain much attention. Television & radio commercials, print and outdoor ads and a special Web site will all be devoted to the campaign (thinkb4youspeak.com).
